Acne is a very common problem and it occurs when skin’s oil glands are overactive and pores become inflamed. Some types of skin bacteria may make pimples worse. Pimples can appear anywhere on the skin, but they most often occur on the face. There some effective ways to prevent acne here are 5 of them.

  1. Tea Tree Oil

It is known for its ability to fight bacteria and also it reduces skin inflammation. Make sure you use it safely and always try it on a patch and then use it on the entire face wherever there are pimples.  

How to use tea tree oil for acne

  • Dip a cotton swab in the tea tree oil and apply it directly to pimples.
  • Apply moisturizer, if desired.
  • Repeat this process 1–2 times per day, as needed.

2. Use essentials oil (oils containing clove, lavender and rose)

Oils containing cinnamon, rose, lavender, clove, and rosemary have been found to inhibit acne-causing bacteria. Applying these oils to the skin may help reduce pimples.

How to use essential oils for acne

  • Dip a cotton swab into the mixture and apply it directly to pimples.
  • Apply moisturizer, if desired.
  • Repeat this process 1–2 times per day, as needed.

3. Apply green tea to the skin

A lot of people drink green tea for its health benefits, but it can also be helpful when applied directly to the skin. It fights inflammation, reduce sebum production, and inhibit the growth. Also it is very cost-effective as you can make the mixture at home.

How to use green tea for acne

  1. Boil green tea leaves for 3–4 minutes.
  2. Allow the tea to cool.
  3. Apply it to your face with a cotton ball or spritz it on using a spray bottle.
  4. Leave it on for 10 minutes or overnight, and then rinse your face with water.
  5. Apply 1–2 times per day, as needed. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

4. Moisturize with aloe vera

When applied to the skin, aloe vera gel has been shown to help fight bacteria, reduce inflammation, and promote wound healing as well.

.How to use aloe vera gel for acne

  1. Scrape the gel out of the aloe leaves with a spoon.
  2. Apply the gel to your skin when you apply other acne treatments. You may want to try mixing it with your other treatment, and then apply this to your skin. Or, you can apply the other acne treatment first, adding the aloe gel over it.
  3. Repeat 1–2 times per day, or as desired.
  • Use makeup efficiently.

When your skin doesn’t feel right avoid wearing foundation, powder, or blush. If you do wear makeup, wash it off at the end of the day. If possible, choose oil-free cosmetics without added dyes and chemicals.
