PEMRA It stands for Pakistan’s Electronic Media Regulation Authority bans some dramas due to indecent content. Here is the list.
1 – Jalan
According to PEMRA this drama went against Pakistani ethics and morals. It is also against the religious values as the sister in law is in love with the brother in law and they are cheating on Areeba Habib. The should know that the Pakistani culture does not support this and this doesn’t happen in real life as well. This is clearly illicit and illegal to air this drama.
2 – ISHQIYA
Again this drama was about a sister cheating another sister and this is clearly not what Pakistani society is about. The storyline was widely criticised because it is not easy to see the secret relationships in such negative light so that’s why PEMRA decided to ban such drama.
3 – PYAR KE SADQAY
In this drama the lead characters marry each other accidently and then the father in law approaches the daughter in law romantically. This is clearly not acceptable on the society. Father in law and daughter in law share such a beautiful and respectable bond which was being exploited.
PEMRA said it has been getting complaints from viewers on a daily basis through the Pakistan Citizens Portal, PEMRA social media accounts, and PEMRA call centres.
According to PEMRA, the channels were repeatedly informed about the concerns of viewers regarding the content. The channels were directed to produce the content according to Pakistan’s social, religious, social and moral values.
PEMRA SAYS THAT ALL THE INVESTORS SHOULD BE STRICT ABOUT THE FUTURE DRAMAS OTHERWISE THEY WOULD BE BANNED WITHOUT ANY WARNING.
